E-Learning Week 1: 03/16 - 03/19

I hope that everyone is getting settled in for our “E-Learning” journey. I have put together a plan for Biology for this week which I have explained below. Please make sure to email me with any questions or concerns as we navigate this craziness together.

1. The Case Study Reading Questions which we started last week Thursday will need to be submitted in Schoology by Wednesday at 4:00 pm. If you have not yet completed the readings or corresponding question document, you will find both located in the Chapter 9 Schoology folder. You will need to either scan or take photos of your completed document pages and upload them into the Schoology Assignment that I created. Please make sure all images are clearly readable as I will have to grade them from the provided images.

2. The Technology Rotations which we start last week Friday will also need to be submitted in Schoology by Wednesday at 4:00 pm. I have put all of the station readings into Schoology as well as the document you need to fill out (if you did not get one on Friday). Again, make sure your submitted images are clear and upload them to the assignment created in Schoology.

3. Your final task for the week will be to create a GMO infographic. The goal behind the project is for you to identify a local or global issue which can be solved through genetic modification and then propose a solution to the identified problem. The solution does not have to be super realistic or feasible, but it does need to be logical and include all of the necessary components as outlined in the project requirements shown in Schoology. Your idea will need to be made into an infographic. If you are not sure what an infographic is, I included a student example from a previous year. PLEASE CHECK THE RUBRIC AND EXAMPLE IN SCHOOLOGY. This project is designed to be creative, so use your imagination and get those creative juices flowing! Completed infographics must be uploaded into Schoology by Thursday at 4:00 pm.

Though email will be my primary mode of direct communication, it is essential for you to check the documents and assignments I have placed into Schoology. We are all going to be figuring things out together, so please email me if you need any assistance. Thanks and have a wonderful week of E-learning!
